Families walking into Cornerstone Christian Reformed Church at golden hour

Cornerstone Christian Reformed Church

Building for the Next Generation

Not because we need a bigger building.
Because God has given us a bigger mission.

Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…

Ephesians 3:20

The Vision Video

This Is About More Than a Building

Cornerstone has already been blessed with opportunities to serve its congregation and its community. What is being proposed is about creating more room for that ministry to continue — for children, youth, families, seniors and neighbours who have not yet walked through our doors.

Our Story

God Has Already Been at Work Here.

This building has served Cornerstone faithfully. It was built for a particular season, and through it tremendous ministry has happened. Decades of worship, friendship, teaching and care have taken place inside these walls.

  • God has blessed this church.
  • People have come to faith.
  • Families have grown here.
  • Children have filled classrooms.
  • Friendships have been created.
  • People have been supported through difficult seasons.
  • Ministries have grown.
  • The community has been welcomed through these doors.

Now Cornerstone is prayerfully considering what the next season could look like.

Where We Are Today

Our Ministry Is Growing. Our Space Hasn't.

These are not failures. They are evidence of a facility that has been thoroughly used and a congregation whose ministry has changed shape over time.

Limited gym & recreation space

Ministry has outgrown the space available for active programs.

Limited youth programming

Youth ministry needs room to gather, play and invite friends.

Foyer & gathering areas

Conversations after worship happen in tight hallways.

Accessibility improvements

Some areas are difficult to reach for those with mobility needs.

Inflexible ministry rooms

Rooms were designed for one purpose in a different season.

Sanctuary improvements overdue

Seating, platform and technology have served faithfully for decades.

Aging exterior & entrance

The first impression no longer reflects the welcome inside.

Office & reception limitations

Pastoral care and administration share limited space.

The Opportunity

What Could the Next Chapter Look Like?

Children, parents and seniors together at church

01

A Church for Every Generation

Children. Youth. Young families. Adults. Seniors. Everyone belongs. A renewed facility should serve people at every stage of life and help Cornerstone prepare for generations that have not even walked through its doors yet.

02

A Church Open Seven Days a Week

This is not simply about improving Sunday mornings. It allows Cornerstone's facility to serve people throughout the week.

  • Youth basketball
  • After-school programs
  • Senior exercise
  • Community dinners
  • Alpha
  • Grief groups
  • Pickleball
  • Sports camps
  • Vacation Bible School
  • Concerts
  • Weddings
  • School partnerships
  • Food bank partnerships
  • Community events

The building becomes a ministry tool.

03

A Church That Invites

  • A welcoming entrance
  • Better gathering spaces
  • Improved accessibility
  • An updated sanctuary
  • Better ministry rooms
  • A clearer reception area
  • A warmer first impression

We're glad you're here.

The building should reinforce the hospitality already present within this congregation.

Imagine…

  • 500 children using the gym every week.
  • Youth inviting their friends.
  • Community basketball.
  • Marriage conferences.
  • Sports camps.
  • Senior programs.
  • Emergency shelter opportunities.
  • Vacation Bible School.
  • Community dinners.
  • Neighbourhood outreach.
  • New believers.
  • Lives changed.

That's the opportunity.

Generations worshiping together at Cornerstone

What kind of church do we want our grandchildren to inherit?

Previous generations sacrificed, gave and built so that Cornerstone could have the ministry opportunities it has today. Now our generation has the opportunity to prayerfully consider what we will leave for those who come next.
